God of Impossibilities - J. Rexon Bennadict Sundhar Singh
God of Impossibilities
Jesus is, has been and always will be the God of Impossibilities! What you are about to read is a testimony to that.
I was part of a Management Training program which was conducted for about 18 Assistant Managers from different verticals & business expertise. The best participant in the program would win a “Gold Achiever Award”.
The program began on 13th Oct’08 and was scheduled to span across 5 days, spread over one month – 3 Mondays of Classroom Training & 2 Days of outbound training at an army camp site. I had set my sight on the ultimate goal of winning the Gold Achiever award the moment I was enrolled into the program. But the challenge was, I was the youngest member in terms of tenure (just 3 months old in the company as against people who had a minimum 1yr of experience in the company) and age.
The program was designed mainly for Operations & I am part of the Training function which being an enabling, support department is considered not so top of the league. At the end of every training session we had different forms of tests & assessments. The following week, the assessment results were shared and displayed for all to see, with stack ranking. At the start of the program, the message that was passed onto us was, ‘No one had stayed at No.1 spot for the full duration of the training programs that were conducted earlier. There were always changes in the ranking, every week after each assessment was completed”.
I wanted to change the trend, but knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. I committed the entire training program unto the Lord. I still remember the prayer that I prayed –
I prayed just two things to the Lord.
One was – Heavenly Father, winning this Gold Achiever Award is my desire, but whatever your WILL is, let it be done. Let me submit to your WILL rather than my desire.
Second was – In line with Philippians 4:13, If winning this is your WILL, Lord I cannot do this alone, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Throughout the programme - I kept myself focused only on these two points. On 8th Nov’08 the training program was completed and the results of the Training program were announced. I won the “Gold Achiever Award.” Not just that - I had stayed at the No.1 spot for the entire duration of the Training program, something which everyone had said was Impossible and had no precedence! I knew that it was not by my strength or power, but by the pure Grace of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. I made it a point to acknowledge the name of my Lord when I received the award and was asked to share my success story.
My Learning Points are:
1. Always commit your ways to the Lord & submit to His will. His plans are always to prosper you & not harm you
2. You cannot do anything on your own, but you can do everything through Christ who strengthens you
3. Always have Fellowship with believers. When I was participating in the Training program, the entire Redeemer Youth Fellowship Team was praying for my success. Prayer has the strength to move mountains into the sea
4. Acknowledge the name of the Lord whenever & wherever possible. Let people know that you have a God who lives!
5. And finally, what is impossible with men is possible with God
God’s Biggest Miracle in my Life - Aravind Joshua Daniel
God works countless miracles in our lives and we are truly blessed in every way by our Redeemer. I write this to testify how God helped me, in the most unbelievable way, last year.
I was doing my 12th standard and was not too serious about it initially. Inevitably, as exams loomed nearer, fear took root in my heart. I was dismayed and very apprehensive about the prospects of having to face the board exams in about two months. That’s when I started praying to God diligently with support from all my family members and friends, but it was my mother who prayed with me whenever I knelt down to face the Lord.
When the exams started, I was ready for them. I was mentally prepared as it was my savior who gave me the inner strength that I needed desperately. I was soon out of troubled waters when I faced the exams without fear, as I knew God was with me.
The results were out and I was happy to have scored good marks. I was overjoyed and I turned to God, thanking him and worshiping his name over and over again. God has truly saved me.
Worship him for he is Lord.
