Say "Thank You Jesus" - Jebaraj Samuel. S

Say Thank you Jesus!

It was 4th April, 2009. I had an interview with an MNC that morning. I reached the office, and when I gave my resume to the receptionist, they informed that they were going to screen reject me, since I had less experience. After some talking, they allowed me to attend the interview. The interviewer asked me to explain my role with my current employer. I explained, giving a lot of information. When it came for the interviewer to ask questions, I was unable to answer them. During the interview he told me that he wanted to screen reject me in the first place since I did not have enough experience and that I did not posses enough hands-on experience. We had an argument. I asserted that I was able to answer some of the questions but he stated none of my answers were correct! That was all I could take. I left the place, losing all hope I had in myself. My mind was unsettled. The same day I went to Crossroads, a music concert. The preacher incessantly kept saying thank you Jesus and hallelujah throughout the message. I was wondering why? Here I am sitting, with all hope lost and the preacher thanks God?
The next day, 5th April, 2009, after our family prayer (we have it every Sunday evenings), my dad and I sat down to watch a football match. Being an ardent fan of Manchester United (MU), we always watch them play. That particular Sunday, MU had scored one goal and Aston Villa, 2 goals, with 30 more minutes to go. My dad commented on how Manchester United is getting kicked these days.
I always wanted Manchester United to win. And so, from the time I switched on the TV, I kept saying “Thank you Jesus” in my heart just like the pastor kept saying during his message, till the game was over. At the 61st minute Federico Machedo, a 17 year old teenager came in for Nani. Cristiano Ronaldo (currently the World’s best player) scored a goal on his left foot in the 80th minute to level the scores 2-2. I was still saying ‘“Thank you Jesus” in my heart. The scores were level for 90 mins. Then the referee announced that there will be five minutes of extra time. In the 92nd minute, Machedo, who was playing his debut for the club, scored the winning goal. It was one of the most spectacular goals of the season. The ball curled over the goal keeper and into the net for a winner and the whole of Old Trafford (The Manchester United stadium) was in raptures.

The match ended after 95 mins. I was still thanking Jesus. I was ecstatic that day!
By and by I realized that, no matter what happens in our lives, we need to thank the Lord for his goodness. Even if you lose hope in yourself and life, NEVER give up! We sometimes tend to become ungrateful for what God has done in our lives. We need to remember to thank the Lord for every situation, for something good is bound to happen through them. At the end of the day, we can rest assured that everything will happen according to God’s will. He knows what is best for us and he will never burden us with more than what we can bear.
